The biofeedback EPFX, a high technology instrument, is assisting to find energetic imbalances from a holistic point of view of the human being. Its function is stress detection and reduction by an energetic scan similar to an antivirus scan on a computer. The work starts from the energetic reading of every individual.

This sophisticated instrument includes over 200 different modules available. It is revealing health status information and the lifestyle influence. EPFX Quantum Biofeedback Overview

The EPFX Quantum Biofeedback System, now entering the third decade of its development journey, and leading the field of Bio-Energetic and Bio-Response measurement, is the accepted standard for the application of Quantum Biofeedback.

The EPFX – Quantum Biofeedback System, the latest and most up-to-date technology, takes a multitude of different stress reduction programs, methods, and techniques, and merges them into a more simple – best overall – well rounded approach. Quantum Biofeedback, working through sixteen different electrical factors of the body, calculates combinations of impedance, amperage, voltage, capacitance, inductance, and resistance for Electro-Physiological Reactivity (The Xrroid Process). The body is indeed electric; therefore reactivity in the body can be measured electrically.

E-P Reactivity results are based upon the ability to establish a “Tri-Vector” connection for an energetic “3-Dimensional” view of the client’s current reactions to over 10,000 different items. For the record, QXCI is the European registered name of Quantum Xrroid Consciousness Interface Biofeedback device originally manufactured by Maitreya, Budapest Hungary. The device was upgraded, and a new company was formed called Eclosion Kft, to reflect the original 1989 registration name for use in North America called the E.P.F.X. (Electrophysiologic Feedback Xrroid). A higher resolution and speedier upgraded cousin, called the SCIO (Scientific Consciousness Interface Operating system) is used in Europe.

Governmental Licensing in Canada, Certification in USA Health Canada passed this device for safety ratings and licensed the EPFX for use as a Class II medical device in Canada as of July 26 2006. This device was previously certified in 1989 by the USA FDA 510(k) number which is K892114 (http://www.fda.gov, 800-638-2041) , the Eurpeon Union, Mexico and South Africa.

Quantum Biofeedback Prescription or Not?

The E.P.F.X can be used a prescription device and requires a prescription for use by a member of the public if and only if that member is under the care of a licensed health care provider requiring that member to purchase and use the equipment for medical purposes.
In all other circumstances the E.P.F.X is not a prescription device. Therefore it can be used by trained individuals on themselves, or can be used on clients of a stress therapist Certified Biofeedback Technicians (C.B.T), Certified Biofeedback Specialist, (CBS), or Certified Quantum Instructors (CQI) or by any health professional or therapist appropriately trained and certified in USA or Licensed in Canada in the use of Quantum Biofeedback.

Training Required:
The E.P.F.X is a Class II Medical device, in the same safe category of operation as a thermometer or blood pressure cuff. In the United States, the device is certified, and in Canada it is licensed. By law, the requirements to operate the equipment are published by the manufacturer in the operator’s manual (see www.eclosion-epfx.com).
In short, training is required if you intend to use the device properly, and especially if on other individuals. If you have

CODE OF ETHICS

Neurotherapy and Biofeedback Certification Board
The Neurotherapy and Biofeedback Certification Board has adopted the following Code of Ethics to encourage certified specialists to maintain a high standard of integrity in the profession and to protect the public against professional misconduct on the part of neurofeedback and biofeedback specialists and their assistants.
Each certified professional shall:Actively maintain professional competence within the standards of
his or her profession, including keeping abreast of the latest
developments in clinical practice and relevant research.

1.Encourage others engaged in neurotherapy or biofeedback to work toward certification within their professional specialty.

2.Accurately advertise credentials and educational background without overstating his or her professional credentials and experience.

3.Make only those claims which can be supported by published scientific evidence when advertising his or her services or disseminating information relevant to his or her services.

4.Take all reasonable precautions to avoid harm to clients, always demonstrating a concern for the rights, safety, health, welfare, culture and dignity of recipients of provided services including clients/clients and persons involved in education or research activities.

5.Provide services without discrimination on the basis of race, creed, age, gender, sexual preference, national origin, mental, emotional and/or physical disability, disease, financial status, social or religious affiliation.

6.Provide recipients of services with access to office policies, their own progress records and a complaint resolution mechanism, and accurately inform recipients of the nature of services rendered as “adopted as clinically effective” or “experimental”, and the potential outcome(s) of any such services.

7.Respect the right of recipients to refuse or discontinue participation.

8.Secure recipients active participation in assessment and service planning to help assure their consent to participate is based upon accurate information about the proposed services, potential risks and full and complete knowledge about their options.

9.Maintain professional, goal-related relationships with recipients and avoid personal relationships with recipients, other professionals and friends which could interfere with his or her objective professional judgment.

10.Refuse services to prospective recipients for whom it is judged that neurofeedback or biofeedback training would be ineffective or inappropriate.

11.Except as otherwise required by law, protect the confidential nature of information gained from clinical practice, and educational and investigational activities, unless sharing the information reasonably could be deemed necessary to protect an identifiable third party from harm.

12.Function within the boundaries of competence and the standards of his or her profession.

13.Consult with experienced service providers when additional knowledge or expertise is required, and refer recipients to appropriate service providers when other services are deemed necessary.

14.Maintain accurate records and reports of services provided.

15.When employing or supervising colleagues, provide appropriate supervision and require supervisees to adhere to a Code of Ethics like this and the standards of practice within their scope of competence.

16.Assume ultimate responsibility for the actions of trainees and supervisees under his or her supervision.
17.Function with discretion, respect, fairness and integrity in
relations with colleagues, students, supervisees and other
professionals.

18.Support intellectual freedom and professional growth through open discussion of theories and factual findings.

19.Refrain from acting in unprofessional, derogatory or disrespectful ways in disagreements with other members in professional meetings, e-mail groups and other forums.

20.Refrain from engaging in or permitting harassment or illegal discrimination.

21.Impart ethical standards of professional conduct through both instruction and example.

22.As an author, assume responsibility for the accuracy and fairness of presented information, guarantee originality of any scholarly papers or presentations he or she may prepare (and/or give credit to ideas and writings of others upon which my work is based), refrain from falsifying, fabricating or appropriating the data of others without specific written permission and disclose any proprietary interests the author may have in professional papers and presentations.

23.As a reviewer of funding proposals or manuscripts submitted for publication, consider related information to be confidential and not to be used in any other manner without specific written permission, and excuse him or herself from the review process if there is a perceived conflict of interest, including business relationships or ongoing legal disputes.

Consider this Code of Ethics in conjunction with the laws,
regulations, and ethical standards which govern his or her
profession and license or licenses to practice.

Biofeedback Legal Terminology

Any disease must be diagnosed by a qualified licensed health care professional. Stress however underlies many conditions. Improving stress may assist in improving reactions to other illnesses or conditions.

People with anxiety need to be under the care of a licensed Health Professional. Anxiety does cause stress, and stress
exacerbates anxiety in a vicious circle. Relaxation techniques such as biofeedback can legally help people relax, retrain muscle tension, so that they can release their stress.

There is research that shows pain, stress and relaxation issues often follow the same cycle. Since stress itself exacerbates any existing problem, using biofeedback techniques to release stress may reduce exacerbations of stress related illnesses.

Whichever medical or psychotherapeutic technique works is what will cure them. No claims of cure should be made about the use of biofeedback. All the biofeedback is doing is ridding the stress accompanying their condition.

Health Canada and FDA state that this device may be operated by certified practitioners. No licensing body in Canada or USA requiring a license to operate this device. FDA states that in the absence of any license, certification is just a valid. Health Canada adopted this policy. Thus since there is no license to diagnose with

Biofeedback, it is used for stress, muscle retraining and peak
performance only. NO MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS IS ALLOWED,
IMPLIED OR INTENDED WHEN USING QUANTUM
BIOFEEDBACK IN CANADA.

The Ethics and Morals of Licensed Biofeedback Operation

The desire to purchase and operate a biofeedback device for
personal use is legal. In order to treat “patients”, however, you must be a licensed practitioner. Therefore, owners who are using Biofeedback for personal use only must act as such, and avoid treatment on others.

The license to practice any type of medicine must be given by a licensing body. The licenses are only given to people, not to a device. The license to diagnose is never given to a machine.

Therefore, it is the responsibility of the buyers of the device to recognize and reinforce at every level, that it is the operator of the device that has the capacity to turn on and manage the client. The therapist must choose what to report or not to report, and must PRINT the report to give to the client.

In order to prevent the FDA or governmental bodies from
confiscating biofeedback or other medical devices, we must stop conflict before it begins. This can be accomplished with voluntary education as part of a license.

Simply put, as a company with Distributors around the world, we must all get behind the concept that if one does not have a license, one cannot use the word “patient” and one cannot, in any way shape or form, diagnose, nor do therapies.

A license in Biofeedback such as the IMUNE license or the
Neurotherapy and Biofeedback Certification Board (NBCB), would allow a person to diagnose STRESS in a patient and treat a patient, but will not allow them to diagnose any other concern. For unlicensed therapists, they should really be doing either formally registered research or personal use only with the device.
