the urban mbt boot
thanks to christain and hans, owners of footsolutions, i have a new winter boot that fits my criteria of comfort and function. as i have had extensive body damage from accidents, i am very proactive about my body. that is why i love my new mbt boots. will see that everyone knows and check it out at www.footsolutions.com/vancouver
i just finished a ten day brown rice fast and am getting myself psyched to begin my yoga practise again. everyday is an exercise to stay healthy – body, mind and soul.
i have spent a lot of time away this summer. away physically and mentally but also spirtually. i miss the person i usually am. i love my home, i live doing the daily routine i adore having the time to darn my socks or make something pretty for my house. being a busy networker and helper, i have let my self do the work i needed, knowing that the reward is coming back to a time where i make time for myself.
with the olympics looming in our immediate horizon, i am glad to know that i am not attracted to the hoopla that is imminent and predicitable to say the least. i am glad that i got to go to the dalai lama to see some of the issues hilited for us to discuss.
one is the trafficing of children, as slaves and as sex toys for those who have the malice to utilize this sector of humanity. another is the maldistribution of the world’s responsiblity to help the poor.
one woman on the dias was swanee hunt. http://www.swaneehunt.com/bio.htm her story was poignant. full of great insight and laughter. she was introduced as the heiress to the hunt oil money from texas. she corrected the introduction by clarifying that she was the illegitament daughter of the hunts. that her mother was the mistress who lived down the street and that when the first mrs hunt died, her mother and children were moved into the big house and formally adopted. she had us in the palm of her hands, when she said “ can you beleive the bull of that!”
the story i liked best when she spoke was, as a negotiator for various councils in her role as ambassador to austria, she was very interested why women were not included on war councils. the tribesmen in the discussions did not wish women be included …. because they did not wish compromise in time of war. ms hunt suggested that if we ended the war one month early in afghastan or one week earlier in iraq, what could we do to enrich the millions of destitute in other regions of the world.
i heard while i was getting my van done at www.japanoid.com in new west, from david…one month in afghanastan is 8 billion dollars. i am very amazed at that number.
also this week, the idea of shooting a rocket into the moon to find water popped up. that was many years in planning i am sure, and only now have we even heard about it. the world is definitely run by some very big wigs. wars in the middle east, rockets sent to the moon to find water while millions in africa are dying due to relocation due to drought or war. some times i wonder why we all dont have the spigot to that immense wealth that is below the surface.
there i have given my report of the dalai lama, one week later. this week, i have had to detail my place up in whistler in preparation of the 2010 olympics. it is wonderful to see the excitement building up in that small town. i am sure it is going to be a smooth ride. the charactor of the whistler/ blackcomb has always been slick and i dont think that that is going to change. we just have to do our best to stay on our sleds and not fall off. cause the ride is going to be fast and very curvy.
have a great thanksgiving…we have a lot to be thankful for, lucky us to be in canada!
