had a lovely day , starting with the arrival of ruben and phillip at my house this morning.  ruben wanted to play with alex so when his mom and sister were at a chocolate making course here in vancouver, he came over to our place to play.  phillip had tea with me but then left to look at new vehicles for his wife.  it was quiet and at one pm, the boys and i started walking from kingsway and knight road to main and second.  it was a long walk but the 10 and eleven year old did a wonderful job of getting there in good spirits.

we met the parents there about 2pm and settled into having a wonderful raw lunch.  a couple of smoothies for the boys and gazpacho soup for me.  i noticed that the famous vancouver singer,  bif naked was having her lunch there too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ij9r7hSfkQ this is my favorite tune from her.  she is a known vegetarian and wow, she was at the restaurant.

so sarinda and phillip live in mount currie.  she is a raw food chef as well as a yoga teacher.  she also is a rebalancer.  she was my roommate at massage camp in 1996.  we met in the whistler library one dreary winter day in 1995 and i mentioned that i was attending a course in costa rica the next week and immediately she registered for class and was on the plane down with me when i went.

it was such an experience being there with her and since then we have both created lifestyles that complimented what we learn in that educational experience.  our teacher, menlha’s camp is found at http://www.sunvacation.org/  menlha is now a raw foodie too and offers cleansing workshops at her finca ranch.

sarinda is now working on developing her own raw food catering company in whistler and her stuff is so yummy, i especially love her nori strips.  seaweed and miso strips that are food medicine for the thyroid and the large intestine.

her company is found at http://www.wildplanetrawfoods.com/  look her up and try some of her stuff.  she can ship it to you or you can find her at the whistler farmers markets in the summers.  she can also come and cook for you and she is such a raw food scientist.

phillip is a landscaper most of the year in whistler and in the winter he is the house husband.  he mentioned that the  snow in whistler this weekend was great.  the best base in quite a few years.  i am looking forward to being there next week!

when sarinda and phillip and jaya arrived, they had a couple of wraps, the wrap was made of dehydrated vegetable leather and inside was carmelized onions and sprouts.  we both ordered a zingy sushi plate…the sauce was made of soy, vinegar, ginger  like ponzo sauce at a japanese restaurant.  sarinda mentioned that the food made there was reflective of the cultural background of the owner of organiclives.org, preet and his crew of alchemists.  very light and fresh, tasty.

have a great day!
