new year 2010
Happy New Year 2010! living in Vancouver, we are pretty excited to have the Olympic games coming to town. you can feel the palpitations as the days count down for the feb 12-28, 2010. already in the air are all the plans to attend and to get out of town during the days of the event. we are definitely going down the tunnel and it is going to be here in 40 days!
on december 30th, i got my second day out on the ski hill. i use to live in whistler so it is a foggy memory of a decade i spent there. so much has changed. i remember trudging through the underbrush where the new library and the IGA are now located. it was rugged back then. now it is a winter wonderland ala disney like. where everyone knows that it is a destination must see spot and where the people who populate the town are all transplanted there for the love of skiing and living the wilderness life with the added income base of the tourist trade.
the other day, sheila snow www.sheilasnow.com called and said that there was skiing to be done and she was coming out from vernon, bc to do it. also jay hare, president of Ionways (north america) http://www.ionways.com/management_jay.aspx was going to be there with his nephews.
woo wee, what a great combination! sheila, jay, ski, snow and me! it has been a great year with these guys. i was with them during last years ski/water tour. i was in vegas at the national convention. right after that i was with sheila at the komasket music festival http://www.komasketmusicfestival.com, pouring ionwater for the concert goers.
sorry, i had to go away for the afternoon and now i am back at the computer, inputting into this blog. i realized that my http://www.shiatsutherapy.ca/ board meeting was going to be happening in 13 minutes and scooted out of the house. it was a very good meeting and i am very grateful to be involved, supporting the board as it ventures into building the shiatsu therapy association of b.c. into a profitability.
our new president, shelley easthope is an amazing organizer and facilitator, is creating a fresh and successful board to market and educate people about oriental medicine. i had the pleasure of driving her to the tsawwassen ferry where i picked up my buddy natalie gold who is camped out on my living room floor for the week as she is teaching at the vancouver school of bodywork and massage www.vsbm.com. she is an amazing reflexologist and a good friend from whistler days.
as i was creating my resolutions for the new year, i am mindful to go with the flow. the new year was auspicious for the nuances…blue moon, full moon and a lunar eclipse. i was aware not to get too unbalanced by over extending my energies. one of my revered yoga teachers, taught us that following the phases of the moon was a smart thing to do. full moons are rest days for the head. derangement is common on full moon days.
this year is the start of a holiday year phase for me. i am excited because i can plan for days with friends. go and travel. to have a period of regeneration that i must make for my success as a human being. yes, i am so happy. what a lovely long time to play at the theme of rest and relaxation. i actually am grateful that last year was a work year because the past four years have seeded my long range plans and i am in a position of managing what work will come in. for that i am also grateful. thank you for your contributions to my success and happiness.
so friends, have a great year and enjoy yourself.
if you would like the calculations of your year, here it is…simplified.
take your day of birth and month, add them together and taking the simplified year of 2010/3, add three.
day 17/8 + month3 = 20/2
2 + 2010/3 = 5
1. seed year
2. building year
3. speaking year
4. working year
5. relax year
6. home year
7. pruning year
