written my wonderful friend mary jo fetterly…www.mary-jo.com
i spent a few hours in the sun yesterday with mary-jo, in her sunny living room. she was having breakfast and we were all lounged out in the hot sun on a mattress on the floor. her assistant, chris voiced how much mobility m-j had, she has seen many others who are not so aware and conscious.
she was just back from dallas texas studying with rod skryker. her body was engaged like never before. it was a lot of mula bandas and child poses. what a gal!
i felt blessed that our rebalancing class have so many great minds and great seekers in our group. i am so proud of her as well as sarinda hoilett and sarah bonner. leslie, vasanti and kalyx in nelson. arjun in montreal. trish and kristie in roberts creek. monique in victoria. maria up in courtney. all the others who have taken what menlha taught us in costa rica and made it part of our path. menlha bruneau http://www.sunvacation.org/
it was a brilliant start for me, another tool to figure out being a human being. i am sure everyone felt the same. yes we all came with our bag of tricks but left with an awarenes of how little we knew and how much we wanted to learn. now years later, the bag has not gotten any more filled and it feels that it needs to be filled more.
here is the email mary-jo sent this morning…wow!
“Hello friends and yogis.
I hope this finds you all well and feeling the fresh energy of this new season.
Some of what is swirling on the fall winds of change is the energy of the new moon which moved into Virgo on Friday the 18, the Equinox which is shifting with the Sun in Libra Tuesday the 22, and of course the tail end of this past Mercury retrograde.
If you have noticed yourself reviewing and re=evaluating what you want in relationships, as well as how you value yourself (or don’t – oh oh) you are noticing the strong forces of the planets.
This retrograde notes the play of balancing your (Libra) outer life – inner life – and (Virgo) the details of refinement that make that all work.
Needless to say there is a lot of energy moving around! All the more reason to give as many opportunities to yourself to do a daily saddhana or practice; to purify as much as possible the clutter in your physical spaces – body/mind/surroundings; and to nourish to the deep layers of your being with grounding foods and yoga practices.
On that note there is a wonderful Indian festival to celebrate this period and the necessary deities to facilitate our remembrance and connection to our Divine essence.
This time also denotes the yoga International Day of Peace (Sept 21), please see attachment for details on how to participate with your intentions.
I have just returned from another enlightening and heartfelt training with my teacher Yoga Pura Rod Stryker and look forward to sharing these valuable teachings with you in the future.
May the longer shadows of the fall deepen your exhales.
Much love & light,
Mary-Jo Fetterly
