glass vs plastic

so as a friend of mine, you will have noticed my disdain of the use of plastic. i actually cringe now whenever i see a plastic bottle, container or utensil being used.
why? because of the throw away society that i was brainwashed into believing in and the legacy that we will show to our children and the future inhabitants of this world. as you have seen in the charles moore video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7Nn-mUfSBU it is disgusting what is happening. so i do my best to minimize my consumption of plastic materials.
it was when i started researching the water business that i started viewing videos. cbc had a good one that i saw accidentally http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jj_fVqjljS4 which made the summer of 2007 a wretched one for me as i grappled with the information that i hear about both water and plastics.
since then i have done a mental check every time i buy or use plastics. i have had to do my bit to stymied the unconscious assault to the natural laws of life.
i go out of my way to buy glass containers for my leftovers. i buy my flax oils in glass. i ask for less packaging when i see that it is over bagged. i bring my own bags and baskets everywhere i go.
i do it for myself but i really do it so that it becomes a habit. one that i am conscious and proud of. i am not perfect every time, but i acknowledge that i am not perfect in my wish to avoid plastic. i only hope that my little bit will be of some influence to others.
